Random Friday

Where have I been you might ask?? I have been completely consumed with the three group projects I have to do for school. Talk about stressful. I have missed posting and I apologize for my absence. TGIF! Seriously...don't know what I would do if it was any other day of the week. The weekend just needed to be here already.

Although I have the night off from work, I do have to finish up one of my group projects and then it is sweet freedom for the rest of the weekend! I think I am going to work on some of the renovations for my bedroom. I officially moved everything to the bigger room but now I have to paint the walls and get new curtains and stuff. I love decorating so I am excited :)

While I was away from the blog world, I was given an award from Tasia @ One Step at a Time. Thanks so much girlie :) If you have not checked out her blog, go do that right now!

So now I am supposed to post seven facts about myself and then tag fifteen other bloggers but I don't know fifteen other blogs to tag (that I haven't already tagged) so I will just think of the seven random facts to share with y'all.

1. I wear contacts. If I didn't I would not be able to see at all! Everything is blurry unless I have contacts in or glasses on.

2. I am horrible with directions. I have to use my navigation system every single time I drive to my new campus. You would think that by now I would know my way...

3. I am absolutely in love with owls. I think they are beautiful birds plus I just love anything with owls on it.

4. My natural hair is very wavy and annoying. I straighten it every day so that I get rid of the frizziness.

5. I love trying new food. I won't be eating anything super exotic but I am open to trying new ways of cooking and preparing things. I think my cooking class is helping with that inspiration :)

6. I never read anymore. I used to love to read books but I just don't have the time. (Or at least that's my excuse) I do look at magazines sometimes though.

7. I am a clean freak. And I love a day that is just spent organizing stuff. My boyfriend loves it when I help him clean his room (it's a disaster most of the time).

Okay I tried to pick seven new things  about me that I haven't shared but I am sorry if I repeated myself in any way. Thanks again Tasia!

Five Question Friday

 1. Where did you meet your spouse boyfriend and did you instantly know it was love? I have kind of mentioned this before but I'll go into detail for the first time right now. When I was in the 7th grade, I met a girl named Jessica at my middle school. She later became my best friend and we were inseparable! We were best friends through middle and high school and even my freshman year of college. Now Rusty is Jessica's step brother. Of course through the seven years of being Jessica's BFF, Rusty was always at her house just being Rusty. When I was younger, Rusty was just the annoying older brother that used to antagonize us girls. It was probably when I became a sophomore or junior in high school when Rusty started seeming pretty cute and a little crush developed :) Rusty is three years older than me though! Even though we liked each other, we never pursued anything because of the age difference and the fact that it was my best friend's brother. I know three years isn't a big deal but when a girl is 15 and a guy is 18, that's a whole 'nother story LOL. So after I graduated high school, Rusty and I became close. We were just friends but we talked to each other about life and relationships. It's kind of weird for Rusty and I because we have seen and met each other's past boyfriends and girlfriends. He has met all of my past boyfriends and I have met all of his past girlfriends. Kinda weird huh? Welllll we had been friends for a while and then it got to a point where we really wanted to give "us" a chance. I went to my friend and told her how I felt about Rusty. Let's just say she was not thrilled about it. To this day, I don't know why I couldn't have been friends with her and been happy with Rusty. I used to balance my time with each of them...when I was at her house to chill with her, I paid no attention to Rusty and vice versa. I thought it was very selfish of her to say that I had to choose either her or Rusty. Both meant a lot to me so I refused to make that decision. Jessica ended up making that decision for herself and moved out of her house last April. She hasn't spoken to me since. Their family was totally understanding of the situation but no one understood what her problem was. She still sees her dad (Rusty's step dad) occasionally but she distanced herself from both me and her family. It's sad to talk about but I know that I am lucky to have Rusty and his family in my life. Was it instant love? NO! LOL not at all. There was a point where I couldn't stand him. It took time for us to fall completely head over heels for each other :) I am so sorry for how long that turned out! I don't expect anyone to read all of that... 2. What is your favorite room in your house? Probably my bedroom. Only place to get some peace and quiet! 3. Can you wiggle your ears? I totally wish I could but sadly I can't.  4. What is your evening ritual? Well after work, I take a shower and then lay in bed while watching television and doing homework in my PJs.  5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function? Probably 5 hours to function however I work best with 8 hours.

 {one} name one thing you worry about running out of.I worry about running out of gas in my car. The thought of being stranded somewhere freaks me out. I hate it when my gas light comes on!
{two} what is your favorite pizza topping?Extra cheese? I am not a huge fan of pizza toppings besides cheese although pizza with sliced tomatoes and basil on top is super yummy!
{three} what is your favorite harrison ford movie?Any of the Indiana Jones movies. I love them!
{four} apple juice or orange juice?Orange. It's super good for you.
{five} what’s your favorite thing to do on a sunday afternoon?Sundays are usually spent relaxing and watching Sunday night cartoons on Fox.  {six} what is the wallpaper on your cellphone of?The boyfriend and I :)   {seven} do you have a favorite tv commercial?I love any and all of the Geico commercials.
{eight} what is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?Probably chicken gizzards...I know it sounds awful. My mom made it for dinner once and didn't mention the gizzards part till after I was done eating. Gross.
{nine} what is one piece of clothing you can’t live without?Jeans. I pretty much wear jeans every day until our Florida summer heat comes in. They are comfortable and go with everything! {ten} if you were a character from “lost”, who would you be?Um probably the chick with the freckles? I don't really know LOL I used to watch the show till I got LOST.

one. I am Mexican and Costa Rican! You wouldn't know it by looking at me but my dad is from Mexico and my mom's mom is Costa Rican. Unfortunately for me, I get my pale skin from my momma because her dad was German and Dutch.


two. I understand Spanish very well but can't speak it! I understand my dad when I hear him talking to people in Spanish but I couldn't have a conversation with anyone even if I tried!


three. I absolutely love cupcakes! Some might say I am obsessed.


four. I do not function well without at least one nap a day. Yes I am an old lady! I have actually been without a nap this entire week due to school. I get a little cranky...


five. I met my boyfriend through my best friend in middle school and high school. He is her older stepbrother. I have known him since I was 12!


six. I take forever to get ready in the morning. I can't go anywhere without makeup on and my hair done so I need at least an hour to an hour and a half each morning.


seven. I love to cook. I haven't been able to cook lately because I am so busy with work and school but I love learning new recipes to try! I am actually taking a Food Preparation for Catering class which is required for my major. How awesome is that?!

A Wee Bit of Me Wednesday

one. what time do you normally wake up?

I am up no later than 9 every day however there are certain days of the week I have to be up earlier like at 7:45 on school days. Bleh.

 two. do you have a go-to song for karaoke?I would never be caught singing in front of anyone so no, I sadly don't. (Or maybe it's not so sad because I am saving people from hearing my wretched voice) three. if you could only see black and white except for one color, what color would you choose to see?Definitely green. It's my favorite color :)
four. what color best matches your personality?Hmm well green is my fav but I think pink probably matches my girly girl personality best.
five. if you could choose one meal to cook better than anyone else, what would it be?Thanksgiving dinner fo sho. I think if I was better than anyone else, that would make me a rockstar.
six. how many keys do you have on your key ring?Three. My car key, my house key, and my boyfriend's house key.
seven. do you give your pets birthday/christmas gifts?Yep :) A toy or a bag of treats.
eight. when your plate has different foods on it, do you mix or not?It depends on what kind of food it is...usually not but if it's like rice and beans then YES.

nine. if you could hire someone to do one thing for you all the time, what would it be?

Oh this is easy...my homework! I would never actually hire someone because that would be cheating but the thought is sometimes nice.
ten. when flying, do you prefer the window or aisle seat?Window seat because I have something to lean on when sleeping instead of some weird person I don't know.

Hoo Are You?

I have been wanting to participate for a while so here goes. Go link up! 1. Do you ever burp out loud in private or public? I love how random this question is! In public I absolutely do not burp out loud. I think it's rude when people do. Now when it's just me and the family or boyfriend, I do burp out loud sometimes. It's never really intentional but my boyfriend always likes to turn it into a competition on how loud our burps get. (LOL embarassing much?) 2. How often do you get sick each year? I usually get sick about twice a year. And both times are usually in the winter time. The cold weather always gives me a cold and I always catch the flu :( 3. Would you rather paint a room in your house yourself, or have someone else do it for you? I would rather pay a professional to paint a room for me. I am lazy and know they would do a better job! 4. If you get 30 minutes to yourself, what do you do? Honestly, sleep. I love naps and couldn't live without them. If I am not sleeping, I am usually watching my recorded television shows. Gotta love my DVR :) 5. Do you allow people to wear shoes in your house?
Well I live in my parents house and they don't care whether people wear shoes or not. When I get my own house, you better believe my guests will take their shoes off!

Free Time to Get Caught Up!

Since I created my blog after the 30 Day Blog Challenge started, I missed the first four challenges. I have some free time from homework and laundry so I am going to catch up.

Day 1: Introduce, Recent Picture, and 15 Interesting Facts

My name is Kalina and I am 19 years old. I am a sophomore at the University of Central Florida and I am majoring in Event Management to eventually be a wedding planner. I currently have two jobs- I am a hostess and server at an Italian restaurant that my father owns, and I am an assistant wedding planner for this wonderful company called Blush that is very well known in Central Florida. I am a part of a family of 6 which includes two dogs and an unofficial 7th member which is my boyfriend. That's my life and I love livin it :)

I didn't have a recent picture of me so I just took one on my computer- the blonde hair is very new!

One: I was born in Santa Monica, California and lived there for 8 years before moving to Florida. California weather is the best!

Two: I am Mexican, Costa Rican, German, and Dutch. My pale skin comes from the German/Dutch in me. I wish I was tan :(

Three: I have an intense television schedule and since I work nights a lot, I could not live without my DVR. House, Teen Mom, Law & Order SVU...just a few of my favs.

Four: I LOVE cooking. Finding new recipes to try is one of my favorite things to do! My boyfriend is extremely picky though so I usually edit the recipes to his liking.

Five: Out of my three siblings, I am the only one that got my mom's green eyes. The rest have brown eyes like my dad.

Six: I am addicted to getting my nails done. Every two weeks  I get a fill put on my set of acrylics.

Seven: I hate driving. I unfortunately have to do it to get to school and work but I try to avoid it at all costs. I guess I find it scary? I don't really know.

Eight: I love playing with makeup. I watch endless amounts of YouTube tutorials on applying makeup and I get so excited when I get new makeup to add to my collection.

Nine: I can't stand walking around barefoot. I always have to have shoes or slippers on.

Ten: I spoke Spanish until I was three and only Spanish. We had a Spanish nanny and both my parents are bilingual so I didn't start speaking English 'till I was put in daycare. You wouldn't know it now; I can only speak very little, if any at all! It's very sad.

Eleven: My favorite color is green. It's so relaxing and reminds me of nature.

Twelve: I love crafts! I am currently working on a scrapbook and making my Halloween costume as well as my boyfriend's. Our costumes are funny...you will learn about them later :)

Thirteen: I have an obsession with weddings- hence me wanting to be a wedding planner. Something about being with the one you love and the commitment is so beautiful to me.

Fourteen: Cupcakes make me happy. I have said it before and I'll say it again. Cupcakes make me HAPPY.

Fifteen: I take a nap at least once a day. I would be exhausted if I didn't. A lot of people call me a grandma for doing so but sleeping is one of my favorite things to do, as sad as that sounds.  

Day 2: Meaning Behind Your Blog Name

"Te Amo Mucho" is Spanish for, "I love you a lot". Even though we speak English in my house, Spanish slips in once in a while because we are in fact mostly Hispanic. We always say, "te amo" to each other and my boyfriend and I even say it to each other so I thought it was perfect for my blog.

Day 3: Your First Love

I have said, "I love you" before to one past boyfriend and until I fell head over heels in love with Rusty, I didn't realize that it wasn't true love with my ex. True love is when you can completely be yourself with someone and share your feelings with them. They are your other half and you couldn't imagine your life without them. That's exactly what I have with Rusty and I can honestly say he is my first love and I know he will be my last. (Whoaaa super sappy! Sorry!)

Day 4: Your Parents

I was truly blessed with incredible parents and I am so lucky to have them. I love them with all my heart and I know that they are always going to be there for me when I need them.
