Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

It's Monday which means I am starting yet another busy week!

one. School has already gotten me stressed out and it's only been a week since it started. UGH. I received an unexpected email Thursday night that I had been dropped from one of my classes due to not having the correct pre-requisites. This made me super angry for two reasons.

1. I registered for this class during Spring semester which was before Summer even started. Why on earth would this guy Josh wait to email me the night before the add/drop period ended?!

2. When I registered for the class, I had to register with an advisor in the Office of Student Services. Why would they approve me to register for a class if I didn't have the correct pre-requisites?!

Let's just say I am not very happy with my school right now...

two. The latest addition to Rusty's house is a giant pool table right smack dab in the center of his front living room/dining room. I guess that was the final item that needed to be added to completely define his house as a man cave.

three. Speaking of man cave, I am SO VERY TIRED of cleaning up after Rusty and his two other roommates. I know that no one is forcing me to be their maid but I have OCD (I seriously do) and it is impossible for me to just let his house be a pig sty. If it isn't dirty dishes in the sink, it's car parts on the kitchen table or clothes on the floor. I don't live there, but I am there all the time and I can't stand it!

four. There are four holidays coming up that I am thrilled for:

The first is Labor Day on September 5th which means no school for me :)

The second is my birthday on September 8th! I will be the big 2-0.

The third is Rusty's birthday on October 10th. He will be 23. That seems so old to me. (No offense)

And finally, I am super excited for Halloween. I absolutely love dressing up. I just need to think of a cute couples' costume idea...any ideas???

Wishing y'all a wonderfully productive week!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Go link up with Carissa!

one. No, I did not fall off the boat. As soon as we got home from the cruise, Rusty and I got right to work on his house so this past week has been absolute craziness trying to get his house in order. But before I get ahead of myself, we all had such an amazing time on our cruise!

Sorry the pics are not in order...

We went snorkeling in our third port Freeport, Bahamas.

The catamaran we went on was the Seaduction ;)
The water slides on board were awesome!

Our first formal night at dinner.
Our second port was Grand Turk and we took a trolley ride (our ports were changed because of a tropical depression in the Atlantic).

The water in Grand Turk was gorgeous!!

First night on board exploring the ship.
two. Okay the whole process of getting a new house and buying appliances and furniture and the whole nine yards is a lot to deal with but I have been spending all my time the past week helping Rusty out and the house is really coming together. I will show you guys some pics soon!

three. I start school in exactly one week :( I will be extremely busy once I start school on the 22nd but at least this is my junior year. Only two more years and I will have my Bachelor's degree in Event Management. I can't wait to be out of school so I can get a full-time job and be doing what I love!

I guess it's as easy as 1, 2, 3...

That's all that's been going on with me. How have you guys been??

Have a wonderful Monday and good week lovelies!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Go link up with the lovely Carissa!

one. For those of you who don't know, I had a little accident with my laptop and I still have not gotten it fixed. I think I am just going to wait until I get back from my cruise because I can't afford to pay for it right now. Until then, I will be borrowing my parent's laptop or desktop computers.

two. Since I last blogged, my life has been very eventful! I went with Rusty to the doctor last Friday because he was having a weird pressure in his chest. Fortunately, the doctor said that he was going to be okay as long as he relaxed and took it easy on the energy drinks. Poor thing fell asleep as soon as we got back to my house and later that day took a FIVE hour nap.

I was a creep and took this pic while he was snoozing.
I couldn't help myself because he just looks so peaceful lol.

three. I went shopping recently to TJ Maxx and realized it is extremely hard to go shopping in a place that has so many wonderful things. From shoes to sunglasses to decor to clothes...it was extremely hard for me to be responsible. BUT I was good and just got myself a new purse (which I needed) and two gardening tools that were on sale for my boyfriend. I only spent 37 dollars. Go me!

four. This past Friday, my best friend Hannah introduced me to the wonderful world of thrift store shopping. I have been keeping my eye out for things for my boyfriend's new pad and this was the perfect way to get cute things at an amazing price.

Halfway through our thrift store spree, Hannah and I got sidetracked and stopped at a puppy store. OMG. Bad idea. Puppies are just so freaking cute and it's so hard to not want to rescue all of them and take them home. I fell in love with a chubby little Shih Tzu puppy.

I eventually had to put him back even though I didn't want to :(

We finished our little adventure going from thrift store to thrift store and on the way home we encountered a super bad Florida thunder storm! Sooo scary. The roads were covered with water and it was a very dangerous drive home. We took the following pic while pulled into a gas station on the way home.

five. I am beyond ready for my vacation. We are leaving in a little less than two weeks. It's almost here!

Happy Monday!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one. Happy Fourth of July! I hope y'all spend quality time with friends and family today celebrating our Independence Day :)

Rusty and I will be spending time with his family today at his cousin's housewarming party. Bring on the delicious grilled food!

two. I was all decked out in baking attire the other day when I baked my "wittle" owls (they are just so darn cute!) and apple pie.

three. I have become a gamer. I never thought this day would come. My boyfriend purchased an x-box 360 game system with a Kinnect (like a Wii) the other day and we have been playing games nonstop. I bought a CSI game and it's so addicting!

Bought this but haven't gotten my lazy butt to play it yet...

four. The Casey Anthony Trial comes to an end today. I pray that the jury makes the right decision and gives a fair sentence to Casey after these long weeks of testimony.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July friends!

Miscellany Monday!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one. I am kind of dreading this week because I work sooo much this week. I have six shifts this week. Ugh.

two. But a week from today is Fourth of July! My boyfriend and I are going to his cousin's housewarming party which should be fun.

I can't wait to make these!

three. Speaking of houses, I have been looking nonstop at stores for cute and inexpensive decorations for my boyfriend's future home.

Here is one bathroom set I found:

Owls. Enough said.
Okay that might just be wishful thinking...

four. I am in LOVE with these new colors from China Glaze because they are perfect for summer. I currently have the second pink color on my nails :)

five. I better go get dressed because I am going to see the boyfriend for lunch today. I have leftover Chinese food from last night. Let's just say dumplings are freaking delicious.

Happy Monday ladies!

Miscellany on Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one. I am back at home and things are back to normal since my boyfriend's uncle came home yesterday and we are no longer house-sitting. I miss Katie (uncle's dog) already. How could I not with that precious face???

two. My boyfriend is in the process of purchasing a house and I can't contain my excitement about it! I LOVE decorating and to have an entire house to decorate is going to be a blast. I got him this rug a few days ago except of course it has his name...

three. I don't know if any of you are following the Casey Anthony Trial but watching the defense try to present their case is nauseating. Jose Baez, Casey's lawyer is beyond annoying and immature and I think that as of now, I have made up my mind about whether she is guilty or not. GUILTY.

four. I am so eager to go on my cruise next month! I have slowly been doing some shopping to acquire more cruise-appropriate clothing and accessories. Or maybe it's just an excuse to go shopping but oh well. It makes me happy :)

Some of the things on my shopping list:

1. A floppy hat

2. Romper

3. Maxi Dress
*already have a few but I want MORE

All of these items were found at Forever 21.

five. Happy Belated Father's Day! I felt bad because yesterday the boyfriend and I spent our entire day driving to and from Jacksonville, FL because my cousin was giving away his King mattress. Hello bigger bed! But it sucked not spending Father's Day with either of our dads.

Have a wonderful Monday ladies!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one. I made a very last minute decision this morning. I dropped my summer school class! I decided that I can always take two classes next summer and that I deserve to have my entire summer break. I have been encountering so much stress lately so I felt it would just be best to not push myself into something I didn't have to do.

two. Please pray for my family and I. I feel like my family is falling apart...I have been nothing but completely responsible and respectable but my parents have been questioning me constantly. I don't know what I did to make them lose trust in me (I truly don't) but I feel like I don't deserve to be treated the way they are treating me. It makes me feel like all my hard work with school, working three jobs, and helping around the house are just going unnoticed. I work hard so that I can prove myself as a valued member of my family and my boyfriend works just as hard to do so; he has always been very close with my family. So why all of the sudden are he and I being treated like we can't be trusted?? It is leaving me feeling  confused and really hurt.

three. Yesterday I had a lovely day at my boyfriend's house. We gardened in the morning. All of our plants are fruiting! We have watermelons, tomatoes, cucumbers, tomatillos, eggplants, cannelope, okra...etc. It is so exciting to see results after putting so much hard work into it. Yesterday we also went to Ruby Tuesday with Rusty's family for lunch. The food was so delicious! Don't know why I had never been there before.

four. With all of this time I am going to have on my hands, today is going to be dedicated to cleaning, cleaning, cleaning. I am going to clean out the inside of car and my bedroom today. I love feeling productive :)

I apologize for the mixed emotions in this post but that's how I feel! I am so happy when I am with my boyfriend's family but I feel like being with my family is the complete opposite. I am just hoping and praying that all of this passes because I am determined to have a good summer.

Happy Monday friends!

Miscellany Monday

Okay I have realized that until the end of this semester, I am just going to be too busy to post as much as I used to. Mondays are really the only days I have time to post because I have such a huge break between classes so I might just be posting miscellany on Monday for the next month and half of school that I have left. Sorry!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Go link up! Love the new button :)

one. Praying for Japan! It's so sad to watch the news. A family friend of ours has family living in Japan and she still has yet to hear from them. It's so scary and I really hope she hears from them soon.

two. Last week was my Spring Break and yesterday I was depressed that I had to come back to school today. I loved sleeping in however I wish I had taken more time off from work. Even though I didn't have school, I wish I was able to enjoy my time off more rather than work constantly. Definitely learned my lesson for next year.

three. During the week it was work, work, work but this weekend the boyfriend and I accomplished so much. After many visits to The Home Depot, we finished transplanting all of our germinating seeds to the beds. It was a lot of work but we got it done in one day and tanned a little while doing so :) We are so happy to have it done and we can't wait 'till we have lots of veggies to enjoy!

Tomatoes will ripen soon! (From last season's batch)

four. I just got a third job! My boyfriend's parents own a wedding videography and photography company called Rhodes Studios and I am their newest videographer. One of their videographers quit on them and they need a replacement so they offered me the job and I gladly accepted. I begin training this Sunday and I think it will be lots of fun but I am a little worried that I will be stressed out. In addition to working as a waitress, I still have my bridal assistant job and now have a new videography job. That is a lot of working but his parents assured me they would be understanding of my schedule.

five. Tomorrow I have a parade presentation for my Entertainment Event class. We are focusing our parade on hometown heroes and I represent the education/teacher float. Our group leader wanted each girl in the group to have a guy counterpart so my boyfriend is taking off work to be there for me. I am also bringing my little brother to represent the students in education. It's going to be so cute and I hope I can get pictures of the parade!

six. I am so excited for Wednesday because that is when I am going to cook my Irish feast :) I would do it on Thursday (actual St. Patrick's Day) but my boyfriend and I both work at the restaurant that night. I plan on making Shepherd's Pie (thanks Ty for the suggestion!), baked potatoes with lots of toppings, possibly a salad of some sort, and still working on the rest of the menu...BUT I decided on the cupcakes I am making and I am going with a chocolate cupcake that has a chocolate ganache Irish cream filling and an Irish cream buttercream. They are going to be so good so I can't wait.

Happy Monday everyone and Happy early St. Patrick's Day if I don't have time to post!

Helllooo Spring Break!

I am so very sorry that I was absent like all last week but to say I was busy is an understatement. Teachers love to give midterms right before Spring Break so studying and working was what I was doing.

But today marks the first day of my Spring Break :)

And I am beyond excited.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one. Yesterday I didn't have work or homework to worry about so it was an amazingly productive day. (This was my planned beach day but it was not beach weather yesterday.) I woke up early and helped my boyfriend start planting the garden. We planted all the beets and cucumbers and have to wait just a little bit longer to plant the other fruits and veggies.

two. We also made a trip to Target because my boyfriend needed to buy sheets for his bed. While we were there, we bought a garlic herb marinade because we were going to make dinner. We made chicken and mashed potatoes which I thought turned out really good but of course the picky boyfriend didn't approve.

three. Wednesday I am going to Rock Springs with some co-workers of mine. It should be lots of fun and I never chill with them outside of work so I am eager to do so! Spring water is usually freezing though so hopefully it's a nice warm day here in Florida.

four. Saturday I am planning to finally go to the beach. I have to go to the beach at least once during my Spring Break right??

five. Since my boyfriend is Irish and St. Patrick's Day is coming up, I am planning on cooking an Irish dinner and maybe baking some St.Patrick's Day cupcakes. I am thinking beer frosting. I just need to find some good recipes.

Happy Monday!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Happy Monday y'all!

one. This week is a tough week for me because I have lots of work and tests going on. I am so eager to get it over with because next week is Spring Break!!

two. Overall I had a wonderful weekend. Relaxing with the boyfriend on Friday night was much needed. But before relaxing, we went to The Home Depot and purchased the items needed to start up our garden again. I am so excited to do this again because it's actually the right season and I know we will be successful this time around.

The first step in our process is to germinate the seeds so we are patiently awaiting the arrival of some sprouting!

three. I was able to lay out in the sun twice this weekend! It feels so good to be getting less and less pasty as the days go on haha.

four. Speaking of which, I am planning a beach day on Sunday with the boyfriend and I ended up buying a yellow two-piece swimsuit from VS so I am totally prepared for Spring Break to just be here already :)

five. My mom is on a business trip in California (lucky her) so Rusty and I will be helping my dad out a lot this week. This on top of of school and work will be kind of hectic so I apologize in advance for my lack of blogging!

Have a great Monday and a wonderful week!

Miscellany Tuesday

Okay it's another Tuesday that I am going to pass as Miscellany because yesterday was President's Day. I did NOT have school off however everyone else and their mother (boyfriend and my family) had off from school and work so I may have skipped my second class of the day. Alright I did skip my second class of the day but it's the very first time I have skipped a class this entire school year! I do feel rather guilty for it but I have a friend in that class that is willing to let me copy her notes :)

one. I had some goodies waiting for my boyfriend after he worked on Friday night. I baked him oatmeal chocolate chip cookies (YUM) and bought him a 143 T-shirt. He says it all the time...his way of saying "I (1) Love (4) You (3)".

two. I spent my extra time yesterday tanning. I am starting to get my color back! I am hoping to go to the beach this Sunday to get some more.

three. On Valentine's Day I made an amazing chicken recipe and it's been quite selfish of me to keep it to myself. It tasted good and was very easy to make! The link is right here. I substituted Mozzarella cheese for Fontina and it was still wonderful. Even my picky boyfriend loved it so I would imagine it's kid-friendly.

four. I am so looking forward to Friday! The boyfriend and I have the night off and we are going to have a date night at a new local Japanese restaurant that I went to this weekend which was amazing. My family had been wanting to try it and the food was delicious! Can't wait to introduce Rusty to it.

five. I really need to go swimsuit shopping. I am thinking of getting a yellow one. I would love to get a new one sometime before this weekend!

Happy Tuesday everyone :)

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one. I had an amazing weekend. It was relaxing and productive all in one. Exactly what I needed after a stressful last week.

two. Happy 3rd birthday to my brother Braden! We were going to celebrate this weekend but decided to do it tonight instead. The boyfriend and I ordered him a ton of Toy Story 3 stuff so that should be coming in the mail today (crossing my fingers!).

three. I absolutely love Lunchables. I am eating one as I type right now and it's really good. They keep me alive while at school!

four. I am starting to enjoy riding on the back of my boyfriend's motorcycle. I used to be petrified at just the thought but I am slowly starting to love it. Braden tried on my helmet this weekend and looked super cute :)

five. It's kind of funny how empty my school is today, I think lots of students had a little too much fun with Super Bowl parties last night. It's irritating though when two of my group members don't show up to class...especially the group leader! Ugh.

six. I am really looking forward to Valentine's Day! Last Valentine's Day, I had to work at night so the boyfriend and I celebrated the Friday before. This V Day we are celebrating the Friday before and then relaxing Monday night and exchanging gifts. BTW, I still have not gotten him anything!! I am procrastinating which is never a good thing.

I hope all of you have a wonderful Monday!
