Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one. I am usually not one to like Mondays but yesterday was just an awful day so I am so thankful it's over. Working all day and petty arguments with the one you love just sucks. Oh well, today is a new day and I am hoping it will be a good one.

two. I asked my boyfriend what he wants for Valentine's Day and you know what he said? A visit to the Chiropractor. Not a traditional Valentine's Day gift by any means. I guess it solves my issue of getting him something original but it's not what I had in mind. I might need to buy some corny traditional Valentine things for him too...

three. We have been getting decent weather in Florida recently but I am so ready for consistently nice not-too-hot, not-too-cold weather! I want to wear shorts, sandals, and dresses so bad.

four. Sometime this week I will be getting my accessories package from the I Heart Accessories Swap. My partner is the lovely Kristen and I can't wait for both of us to see what we got! I will post later this week to show off my new stuff :)

five. Tonight I am baking! I am going to bake some red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. It's been too long since I have baked so it is much needed.

Happy Monday everyone!

Resolving the Issue of Boredom

After starting school this semester, I started to feel so drained. My life consisted of going to school, going to work, and then coming home and sitting on my boyfriend's bed while watching television. Don't get me wrong, I love relaxing after a long day with my lovely boyfriend but all of the fun and excitement had been sucked out of my life. It's not my boyfriend's fault by any means. Rusty and I are both always tired after a long day but yesterday I told him we needed to go out and do SOMETHING. I was starting to get that stir-crazy feeling inside me.

So we decided to go to a movie.

Now there were three movies we could have chosen...

1. The Rite (Super creepy and demonic looking)

2. No Strings Attached (My pick of course! Looks like a cute chick flick)

AND

3. The Mechanic (Ew...guy action movie)

Now which movie do you think we went to see?

Yes, we saw The Mechanic because my boyfriend goes to countless girly movies and it was his turn to see a guy movie. That was his argument so I naturally caved in.

Honestly, I was totally dreading it. I wanted to go out but not to see a movie I wouldn't even like...

I went and sat through it and believe it or not, it was not that bad at all! There were some inappropriate parts that needless to say, I didn't like my boyfriend watching. But overall, it was a good movie with an interesting premise. And most importantly, I understood it! I am one of those people that doesn't understand movies with complicated story lines but I didn't have to ask a single question during the movie. LOL yay me.

So I am happy to say I had a great night last night and it was so nice to go out on a date with my boyfriend :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Go link up with Jamie :)

I am loving that I only have two more days of school this week!

I am loving that Charlotte Russe is having a sale on rainboots! They are 50% off and only 15 dollars! My boyfriend thinks they are ugly but I might just buy them anyway.

This is my favorite pattern they have :)

I am loving that last night at work, we closed at 7:30 pm! There was a crazy rain and wind storm here in Florida so people didn't really want to brave the weather to go out to eat.

I am loving that Valentine's Day is almost here! Any ideas of what I should get the boyfriend? I really want to get him something original.

I am loving that I was booked to work my first wedding for the new year! It's on the 19th of February and the videographers for the wedding just happen to be my boyfriend's parents. Score! :)

And of course I am loving my family and wonderful boyfriend!

Happy Wednesday!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Happy Monday everyone!

one. I had to work on Sunday morning and when I went to my boyfriend's house after work, he had these babies waiting for me...

Four little mini cupcakes from Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly. It's a local cupcakery here in Orlando. He got me two banana and two red velvet, my two favorite flavors! YUM.

two. One of my classes this semester is driving me crazy! It's my Hospitality and Tourism Marketing class. It's a hybrid class which means it's half lecture and half online. Because we only meet in person once a week, I feel like I never know what's going on in that class. I hate feeling lost.

three. My brother has moved out of the house and now I get his bigger room! I am so excited! This means I get a bigger bed with a new bedspread and everything. I can't wait to have more space. My tiny room is so cluttered with stuff because I have outgrown it. I have been looking at bedspreads online and everything but haven't found one I love yet. I will be posting more in the next few weeks about my room transformation!

four. This weekend I have another bridal show to work! I think it's so much fun to interact with future brides :)

five. On a sad note, please pray for my boyfriend's grandfather. He was just diagnosed with colon cancer and it's been hard on both Rusty and his family. Rusty and I went to visit his grandparents on Saturday and that is when his grandfather told him the bad news. His grandfather is being very stubborn about treatment and refuses to stay overnight in the hospital so please pray for him.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Five Question Friday

1. Where did you meet your spouse boyfriend and did you instantly know it was love?

I have kind of mentioned this before but I'll go into detail for the first time right now. When I was in the 7th grade, I met a girl named Jessica at my middle school. She later became my best friend and we were inseparable! We were best friends through middle and high school and even my freshman year of college. Now Rusty is Jessica's step brother. Of course through the seven years of being Jessica's BFF, Rusty was always at her house just being Rusty. When I was younger, Rusty was just the annoying older brother that used to antagonize us girls. It was probably when I became a sophomore or junior in high school when Rusty started seeming pretty cute and a little crush developed :) Rusty is three years older than me though! Even though we liked each other, we never pursued anything because of the age difference and the fact that it was my best friend's brother. I know three years isn't a big deal but when a girl is 15 and a guy is 18, that's a whole 'nother story LOL. So after I graduated high school, Rusty and I became close. We were just friends but we talked to each other about life and relationships. It's kind of weird for Rusty and I because we have seen and met each other's past boyfriends and girlfriends. He has met all of my past boyfriends and I have met all of his past girlfriends. Kinda weird huh? Welllll we had been friends for a while and then it got to a point where we really wanted to give "us" a chance. I went to my friend and told her how I felt about Rusty. Let's just say she was not thrilled about it. To this day, I don't know why I couldn't have been friends with her and been happy with Rusty. I used to balance my time with each of them...when I was at her house to chill with her, I paid no attention to Rusty and vice versa. I thought it was very selfish of her to say that I had to choose either her or Rusty. Both meant a lot to me so I refused to make that decision. Jessica ended up making that decision for herself and moved out of her house last April. She hasn't spoken to me since. Their family was totally understanding of the situation but no one understood what her problem was. She still sees her dad (Rusty's step dad) occasionally but she distanced herself from both me and her family. It's sad to talk about but I know that I am lucky to have Rusty and his family in my life. Was it instant love? NO! LOL not at all. There was a point where I couldn't stand him. It took time for us to fall completely head over heels for each other :)

I am so sorry for how long that turned out! I don't expect anyone to read all of that...

2. What is your favorite room in your house?

Probably my bedroom. Only place to get some peace and quiet!

3. Can you wiggle your ears?

I totally wish I could but sadly I can't.

4. What is your evening ritual?

Well after work, I take a shower and then lay in bed while watching television and doing homework in my PJs.

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?

Probably 5 hours to function however I work best with 8 hours.
Happy Friday everyone! Have a wonderful weekend :)

Wee Bit of Me Wednesdays

{one} name one thing you worry about running out of.
I worry about running out of gas in my car. The thought of being stranded somewhere freaks me out. I hate it when my gas light comes on!

{two} what is your favorite pizza topping?
Extra cheese? I am not a huge fan of pizza toppings besides cheese although pizza with sliced tomatoes and basil on top is super yummy!

{three} what is your favorite harrison ford movie?
Any of the Indiana Jones movies. I love them!

{four} apple juice or orange juice?
Orange. It's super good for you.

{five} what’s your favorite thing to do on a sunday afternoon?
Sundays are usually spent relaxing and watching Sunday night cartoons on Fox.

{six} what is the wallpaper on your cellphone of?
The boyfriend and I :)

{seven} do you have a favorite tv commercial?
I love any and all of the Geico commercials.

{eight} what is the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Probably chicken gizzards...I know it sounds awful. My mom made it for dinner once and didn't mention the gizzards part till after I was done eating. Gross.

{nine} what is one piece of clothing you can’t live without?
Jeans. I pretty much wear jeans every day until our Florida summer heat comes in. They are comfortable and go with everything!

{ten} if you were a character from “lost”, who would you be?
Um probably the chick with the freckles? I don't really know LOL I used to watch the show till I got LOST.

Miscellany Tuesday?

Okay it feels like Monday to me because yesterday I had the day off so I am just going to pretend it's Monday :)

one. Although I was sick, the bridal show I worked on Sunday was a success! We had tons of happy brides visit our booth and it was fun to watch a little bit of the bridal fashion show :) I love all things wedding which I guess is a good thing because that is my future career choice...

two. Last night the boyfriend and I went to Sho-Gun and let's just say I was about to burst afterwards. We both ate soooo much food. It's incredibly tasty! Our chef's name was Wasabi. This made me laugh.

three.  I feel a million times better! I am still a little congested but I don't feel like a zombie anymore. Thank God!

four. Sadly I did not have time this past weekend to get crafty :( There is always this weekend though.

five. I have to take my acrylic nails off for my cooking class! I truly don't know what I am going to do without them. We can't even have nail polish or anything...I will just have to give my nails a break I guess.

six. Have you all signed up for MJ's "I Heart Accessories Swap"? If you haven't, go do that right now!

Happy Tuesday friends!

Fun Friday!

Fun Fridays

Okay it's been way too long since I have linked up with Jen! Sorry girl!

So even though this weekend is pretty much going to consist of homework and work, I will try to have a little fun :)

Today I have to work a double plus I am STILL fighting a cold. I swear I am going on like two weeks with this thing. It does not want to go away. But I get to go home early and relax tonight. I can't wait for that.

Tomorrow night I will be working with the boyfriend at the restaurant. He has a full time job in addition to working as a host a few nights a week where I work. I love working with him. Whenever I get a little stressed with a busy Saturday night, he is there to calm me down.

Sunday I am helping out my boyfriend's family. They own a wedding photography/videography company called Rhodes Studios and they are having a booth at a bridal show. I am going to be there to help tell brides about their company. Afterwards, we are going to Chilli's for dinner. It's tradition to go there after every bridal show!

Monday is Martin Luther King Day and I couldn't be happier to have the day off from school and work. That night, the boyfriend and I are going to Sho-Gun. It's a Japanese tepannyaki restaurant that is sooo good. Better than Kobe in my opinion! Their steak is out of this world. Thinking about it is making my mouth water.

Oh and one more thing...I hope I have some free time on Monday for a little crafting. In addition to being way behind on my scrapbook, Lisa @ The Tolliver Times posted some great ideas for Valentine's Day wreaths. I want to make one so bad!

Have a wonderful weekend friends!

Stylish Blogger Award

Cafe Moka over at « Les mots ne mentent pas » awarded me with the Stylish Blogger Award! Thanks so much girl :) If you have not visited her blog, go check it out right now. She is awesome!

Here are the rules:
1. Share 7 facts about yourself
2. Pick 15 other bloggie gals to do the same!

one. I am Mexican and Costa Rican! You wouldn't know it by looking at me but my dad is from Mexico and my mom's mom is Costa Rican. Unfortunately for me, I get my pale skin from my momma because her dad was German and Dutch.

two. I understand Spanish very well but can't speak it! I understand my dad when I hear him talking to people in Spanish but I couldn't have a conversation with anyone even if I tried!

three. I absolutely love cupcakes! Some might say I am obsessed.

four. I do not function well without at least one nap a day. Yes I am an old lady! I have actually been without a nap this entire week due to school. I get a little cranky...

five. I met my boyfriend through my best friend in middle school and high school. He is her older stepbrother. I have known him since I was 12!

six. I take forever to get ready in the morning. I can't go anywhere without makeup on and my hair done so I need at least an hour to an hour and a half each morning.

seven. I love to cook. I haven't been able to cook lately because I am so busy with work and school but I love learning new recipes to try! I am actually taking a Food Preparation for Catering class which is required for my major. How awesome is that?!

As for the 15 bloggie gals...

I have awarded so many blogs lately and have run out of ideas for new blogs I love. If you know of a blog or have a blog that you think is stylish let me know :)

P.S. I will be better about posting from now on. School consumed my life this first week back!

Two. I am at a beautiful new campus for the rest of my college

Three. I will be getting more work with my second job as a bridal assistant

Four. This summer I am going on a Caribbean cruise with the boyfriend and family

Five. This year I will finally be in my 20's

Six. Fall 2011, I will be a junior in college!

Thanks Kit and MJ for this wonderful challenge to bring us into the new year!

Day 10 of 11 in 2011 Blog Challenge: Favorite Girls Night Out Event

I just have to say that I am posting while at my very new campus! School started today for most college students and this semester is new to me because I am at a branch off campus from UCF. I am at the Rosen College of Hospitality that is geared towards my major. It's such a beautiful and quiet campus compared to the university one. Plus they don't allow smoking on campus which is amazing! I am currently on a two hour break before my second class of the day so let's just say I am a little bored...

Yes, that is my school. Pretty, right?

Now onto today's 11 in 2011 challenge:

As I am young and a college student, most girls my age go out to bars or clubs when they have a girls night out. That is not my scene whatsoever. Not only do I have school and two jobs to worry about, I just don't see the fun in wearing inappropriate clothes and getting drunk.

So my idea of a fun girls night out would be to see a cute new chick flick out in theaters or grab dinner at a nice restaurant.

Something my friend Mackensie and I did one time was go the restaurant called The Melting Pot and we went just for dessert! The chocolate fondue is absolutely amazing there and we saved money by eating dinner at home.

I really need to have more of a social life this semester though. Last semester I was consumed by school and work and I missed out on a lot of fun.

Have a wonderful Monday friends!

Day 7 of 11 in 2011 Blog Challenge: Favorite Memory of 2010

Goodness it's hard to just pick one memory from 2010...there were so many good ones!

As corny as this is going to sound though, my favorite memory has to be when my boyfriend gave me my promise ring for Christmas. It is a promise that will go into 2011 as my boyfriend and I work on our second year together. I am so excited to see what the future will bring in 2011 :)

P.S. The boyfriend and I went to see Blue Man Group at Universal Studios on Wednesday night. It was amazing! I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Day 5 of 11 in 2011 Blog Challenge: Places I Hope to go to This Year

The family plus me and the boyfriend are in the process of planning on going on a Caribbean cruise this summer! I have been on two cruises in the past and they were both Carnival cruises so I am pretty sure we will stick with them again this year. I live in central Florida so Port Canaveral is the port we usually leave out of. It's only 45 minutes from where I live! I would love to go on one that goes to St. Maarten. I have never been there and have heard wonderful things about it.

It wouldn't be a Florida summer if I didn't plan on going to the beach! I love Cocoa Beach and New Smyrna Beach.

Since we couldn't go this past December, next December the boyfriend and I plan on going to Colorado to visit my aunt and her family. Rusty also has a friend that lives in Denver so we would visit him too. I can't wait to see snow this year!

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone!

P.S. Happy one year anniversary to Rusty and I :)

Day 3 of 11 in 2011 Blog Challenge: Favorite Work-out Tips

Okay these work-out tips will come from the honest perspective of someone who said "going to the gym" is one of their New Year's resolutions...

one. Motivation is key! If I didn't have my boyfriend to nag me to go to the gym with him, I would constantly tell myself that I could go another day or I was too busy at the moment. It's important to have someone in your life that will help you stick to your goal and tell you when you are being lazy.

two. Goals need to be established before deciding on a workout routine. Are you trying to lose weight? Are you trying to tone your body? Different workouts lead to different results so doing your research or consulting someone that knows what they are doing is important.

three. Coming from someone that is now on an "eliminate fast food" diet; diet is an important part of working out. For people that want to lose weight, diet has a HUGE impact on your results. Overall, diet and exercise go hand in hand so be conscious of both.

I can't wait to read some other work-out tips from y'all! I am going to the gym today for the first time this year :)

Day 1 of 11 in 2011 Blog Challenge: New Year's Resolutions

Go link up with Kit and MJ!

These might look familiar because they haven't changed since my post from the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Challenge...

1. Go the gym at least three times a week. My school schedule for next semester should allow the time for this. My boyfriend goes to LA Fitness so I would be tagging along with him.

2. Eliminate procrastination with school assignments which will hopefully relieve some of my stress.

3. Save my moolah! I have an issue with spending and if I want to move out of the parents' house any time soon, I better start doing a better job with this.

4. Let myself have fun. I am always so busy with school and work that I never let myself enjoy life. I am a college student. I am supposed to have some fun, right?

5. I need to start eating healthier because even though my metabolism is fast, I am sure the fast food that I consume is not good for me in the long run!
Have a wonderful New Year's Day everyone!
